USA federal government and telework

For many reasons, politicians all over the world are becoming increasingly supportive of telework and telecommuting. This listing of American elected officials (current and past) support and endorse telework. Contact us if you know of others.

Chairman Davis (along with Reps. Sarbanes, Waxman, Tom Davis, Wolf, Cummings, and Norton) Introduces The Telework Improvements Act of 2007 to ensure that all eligible employees have the opportunity to telework by:
improving telework programs in Federal agencies and incorporating telework in continuity of operations planning.
requiring each agency head to establish a policy that allows employees to telework one business day per week in at least 48 weeks of the year
establish a senior level employee as the Telework Managing Officer to implement telework policies for the agency, tracking system and information collection
requires agencies to incorporate telework into the continuity of operations planning of that agency
Provide appropriate training to supervisors, managers, and all employees who are authorized to telework
Provide annual telework report to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs of the Senate
