Telework,
risk mitigation & emergency preparedness
Anyone
involved with telework knows it
can
help
mitigate business disruption during strikes, bad weather
(snow, ice etc.), and other emergencies. Many
organizations and jurisdictions are incorporating telework in
their emergency preparedness strategies. Here are just a
few articles that shed some light on how telework can help us
prepare for emergencies and mitigate business disruption: |

Don't let a flu epidemic paralyze your productivity. Companies

With a serious flu season looming, the idea of the ‘hero worker’
that manages to punch in for a full-day’s work, despite illness,
needs to be discouraged. SHRM says companies may wish to
encourage telecommuting if they have employees who feel they
cannot stay away from the office when they are sick. Rather than
have them come in and use their computers to get work done and
infect everyone else around them, they can continue to be
productive without making others sick |
